While studying Chai discovered the interest of modeling. Her first breakthrough came when she participated in the Vancouver Fashion Week. The Snowball effect grew as she later worked on multiple modeling jobs and expanding her modeling circle in Vancouver. Later on, her works got published onto different prints, websites, social media. VOGUE Italia, Bevie magazines, also the cover of a local Vancouver newspaper-Georgia Street, which is a picture shot by Fang Tong. 

 

At the end of 2017 December, she made a huge decision, pack up everything she had, and took a gap year off to explore the wondrous world.

 

In 2018 she took a gap year and went back to Malaysia to visit her family. She traveled around Asia, to Singapore, Thailand, China, Cambodia, and Korea. While traveling, she met amazing people from different countries, memorable and fascinating events happen often throughout the journey. As a Buddhist, she visited temples in Thailand, Cambodia, and China for soul searching. When back in Asia, Chai participated in Vogue Oriental Modelling Competition 2018 in China, & Miss International Talent Malaysia 2018, which landed First place in both contests. Those are some of the most emotionally exciting events she will never forget, events that gave her the confidence to pursue new endeavors, to check off new to-do lists.
